Why InfaRed Sauna over Traditional Saunas?
Infrared saunas will heat your body, not the air. The temperature inside the sauna does not dictate the benefit or quality of your sauna session. Bear this in mind when seeing and experiencing the ambient temperature inside the sauna.
In their book Beyond Antibiotics, Drs. Michael A. Schmidt et al. state the following: “Saunas are being used by some doctors to stimulate the release of toxins from the bodies of their patients. They have found that a lower temperature (105-125 F) sauna taken for a longer duration is most beneficial. These low temperatures stimulate a fat sweat, which eliminates toxins stored in fat, as opposed to the high temperature sauna, which encourages a water sweat.”
Please follow your doctor’s instructions if they recommend using a lower temperature (which is still beneficial).

Starts at a high intensity to increase the body’s core temperature then reduces to a low , comfortable intensity level. Infrared combination improves vascular access flow to reach toxins at the cellular level. Cabin temperatures for the detox program average around 130 degrees Fahrenheit.
An infrared blend provides natural pain relief by reducing inflammation and swelling while near IR LED’s penetrate the tissue to promote cellular repair at a medium, constant intensity level. Cabin temperatures during the pain relief program range from 135 – 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
Starts at a high intensity to stimulate the cardiovascular system then reduces to a medium level. As the body works to cool itself, there is an increase in heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate similar to exercise. Cabin temperature during the weight loss program is approximately 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
A low, constant intensity level penetrates tissue to help with various skin concerns. Near IR LED’s improve overall skin tone, elasticity and firmness promoting anti-aging benefits. Cabin temperatures inside the sauna cabin during the anti-aging program average around 140 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Balance program is designed for those who enjoy the extreme heat in the cabin at around 155F. The main purpose of this 30 minute session is to encourage the body to sweat. If you like the feeling of intense heat and perspiration then this is the program for you.
What is Infrared?
Infrared light is a natural part of the sun’s spectrum. It has the ability to penetrate human tissue through the use of heat. It provides significant health benefits and is the basis of all Sunlighten saunas. Infrared saunas offer a safe and all-natural experience. It is comparable to laying under the sun out on a beautiful, relaxing day. This treatment is actually better because there are no UVA/UVB rays to damage your skin.
We provide each client with a bath towel and hand towel to sit on. An additional towel and chilled wash cloths are provided for a refreshing cleanse and drying off after your session.
Some like to wear their bathing suits or undergarments when in the sauna, however most go in with just the towels we provide.
We recommend bringing loose, comfortable clothing to change into after your session.

Please lock the door behind you in the sauna room.
Please no shoes in the sauna.
Please do not eat in the sauna rooms.
Please do not bring outside beverages into the sauna rooms.
Please shut the glass door gently.
Please refrain from applying any oils or lotions to your skin prior to entering the sauna.

Traditional heaters such as hot rock or steam saunas warm the air. Infrared saunas heat the body, making it a more gentle and pleasant experience. Infrared saunas operate at a lower temperature than traditional heaters. Thus there is less experience with shortness of breath or heat exhaustion.
